Every client relationship is a journey. Our journey with ARCHE has been more enduring than any other.
ARCHE stands for Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education, and our partnership pre-dates the founding of Resonance, going back to 2000. It began with helping ARCHE put a fresh face on its reports, which offered hard evidence of Atlanta’s higher education prominence.
Since then, ARCHE has evolved its mission: It is now charged with “building awareness of the size, scope, impact and value of higher education in the Atlanta region.” Meaning: ARCHE is a communication enterprise as much as a consortium.
In ARCHE, Atlanta’s colleges and universities have both an aggregator and a champion. Through the organization’s programs, campuses collaborate in cross registration, joint purchasing and library sharing. Through execution of its strategic communication plan, ARCHE itself channels information into the hands of others who tell the story of Atlanta, such as the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, as well as through the news media.
The role of Resonance is to help ARCHE communicate the region’s extraordinary mix of higher education institutions in Atlanta. And here, the operative word is “help”: The ARCHE team is comprised of excellent communicators. We provide them with frameworks and ideas; they contribute their own original thinking and refine the results. Together, we execute.
The products of this partnership include a number of communications, print and electronic, that have elevated Atlanta-area higher education in the minds of leaders in the region and state – and beyond. Here are a few noteworthy examples:
The ARCHE Web site. This online hub is rich in functionality and information. It features a clickable map that whisks visitors to individual pages for each member institution; a search engine that serves up info on degree programs at the 19 campuses; an information center that houses an array of ARCHE studies and reports; and a newsroom that broadcasts campus news and region-specific feature stories. Resonance worked with ARCHE to develop the strategy and architecture for the site, created the design, and managed the project from inception to launch. Visit the site >
"Higher Ed in U.S. Metro Areas." ARCHE’s signature national report was updated in 2008 in two parts. The first showcased Atlanta’s top-8 place among 50 metro areas in 22 higher education metrics. The second distilled Atlanta’s strengths into a talking-point style brochure. The two pieces work together or independently, and ARCHE adds customized tables and graphs to the mix as needed. Resonance did the conceptual work for the package and provided writing and design.
ARCHEtype e-newsletter. With a subscriber base that grows every year, this bi-monthly e-missive does an excellent job presenting fast facts and breaking news on Atlanta-area campuses. Resonance provided the ARCHEtype name and suggested a general information framework; ARCHE creates and distributes the newsletter each month.
"Higher Return." This latest report, which ARCHE released in summer 2009, examines how investment in education generates an extraordinary return. The value of education in Georgia is defined in a wide range of statistical measures. Each page articulates this value in a single declarative sentence. Resonance helped ARCHE develop the core messaging, defined the chart / graph styles, and designed / produced the finished report. See it here >
